Essiraj's hifz engine uses spaced repetition (SRS) adapted to Qur'an: each ayah you mark as memorised is scheduled for review at the optimal moment. Build up your hifz one ayah at a time, run daily reviews, and watch progress accumulate per surah, per juz and per page. Specialised exercises — cloze deletion, first-letter prompts, elaborative recall — train deep memory, not surface recognition.

    Mark an ayah as memorised

    Tap the bookmark icon next to any ayah and confirm "I know this by heart".

    Do your daily review

    Each morning, Essiraj shows the ayahs the SRS chose for review — typically 5-15 minutes.

    Grade your recall

    Rate how easy the recall was. The algorithm adjusts the next review date automatically.

How does spaced repetition work for the Qur'an?

Each ayah you mark as memorised enters a review queue. The algorithm (SM-2 inspired) schedules the next review at the optimal time — a day, a week, a month later — so the ayah transitions into long-term memory with minimal effort.

What exercises does Essiraj offer?

Cloze deletion (fill the blank), first-letter prompts, elaborative recall (explain the meaning), interleaved practice, tajwid drills and ordering exercises.

Can I track my hifz progress?

Yes — per ayah, per surah, per juz and per page. The app also shows your daily review compliance and streak.
